Well, here it is, the 21st Century going on 23rd, and already so much of the music we hear today is pre-programmed, electronic, Simon Cowell produced, repetitive, predictable, mediocre, disco, hip-hop.
We never get a chance to hear master soul and bluesmen practising their craft anymore. This is music for the people, music people understand. Sure it can be basic but it’s anything but simple, it’s something else because it’s honest. There’s no bull, it sticks it’s neck out and says it straight from the heart.
Sure there’s a lot of different music you can get off on but Soul is more than that, it takes you somewhere else, it grabs you by the balls and lifts you above the crap. By the year 2100 the music we know today as Soul and Blues will exist only in the classical record department of your local library.
So for your listening pleasure, ladies and gentlemen, while we still can, let us welcome the hardest working band in the world, from Grantham, Lincolnshire, Illinois, the Soul, Rhythm and Blues showband of Mark “Deadwood” Hickman, Phil Lovell, Steve “Fingers” Winter, Tango and Bubblin’ DT Blues: The Commitment Brothers.
A night of Blues Brothers and the music of the Commitments – one set of each adding up to a wonderful night of great dance music. If you like to boogie – don’t miss this one!
Barbeque from 8PM. Booking is advised – Call 01263 741666
